Mosquito control areas 2019

We have applied for floodwater mosquito control with VectoBac G within frame areas of  12 555 ha in total, a slight increase from 11,671 ha for 2018.  For 2018, as for 2017, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and regional authorities granted permits for treatments within 10,346 ha in total. This year however we have received permits for a total of 11,499 ha. Three of the four Natura 2000-areas applied for were denied permit(Jordbärsmyren-Ålbo, Tjursöarkipelagen, Spjutholmen), while the permit for Båtfors was granted.

The "Overview" map below shows all of the applied frame areas for 2019 floodwater mosquito control (approved treatment areas are shown purple while blue indicates areas where application was denied). There are also detailed maps for each municipality (frame areas within the actual municipality in brown, areas in other municipalities in blue). Some additional exclusions can occur when landowners deny permission.
